With filing cabinets, storage rooms and desks overflowing with physical paper, Central Carolina Community College selects Softdocs to continue the paperless process and improve productivity campus-wide.
Central Carolina Community College, a member of the North Carolina Community College System, has been a Softdocs customer since 2007. Recently, the college chose to build on their existing Softdocs relationship by implementing Etrieve Content and Doc e Fill to meet their enterprise content management, e-forms and workflow needs.
“It’s been a project we’ve wanted to complete for a long time,” stated MontE Christman, Central Carolina’s Associate Director and System Administrator. With filing cabinets, storage rooms and desks overflowing with physical paper it was time to make a change.
Central Carolina will soon utilize the complete Softdocs Workflow Suite when Doc e Fill and Etrieve Content are implemented across its three campuses.
“We were an existing customer with Serve by Softdocs and we’re comfortable with that software and like the service Softdocs provides. It’s excellent service. Anytime we need it, it’s quick and friendly,” MontE said. “And the fact that [Softdocs] is an Ellucian partner was a big bullet point as well.”
Central Carolina is most excited about Doc e Fill and the introduction and use of e-forms. As records are transferred into the new document imaging system, all agree that most users won’t know what to do with all the new space available.
“Central Carolina wanted to move toward an imaging solution as soon as they realized that print jobs from Colleague to Serve automatically archived by vendor, employee or student, thus freeing employees from the copier. We are excited they selected Softdocs at the time of our releasing Etrieve, our next-generation, browser-based enterprise content management and workflow solution” commented Lew Love, Central Carolina’s Account Manager. “This decision provides tremendous flexibility to their IT position, especially with the ability to eventually move to a Cloud computing model if desired.”
