Last Sunday kicked off our Softdocs User Group Conference, Bridge 2012, in Charleston, South Carolina. Filled with excitement and a packed schedule of customer- and expert-led Sessions, Roundtables, One-on-One Consultations, our Keynote Speaker, and a beautiful city, the conference was a big hit and great success!

We began the conference Sunday evening with an Opening Reception with over 100 customers, guests, and Softdocs employees in the Golden Ballroom of the Francis Marion Hotel. From there, we headed off to some of the best restaurants around historic downtown Charleston, including Hall’s Chophouse, Coast Bar and Grill, Fleet Landing, 39 Rue de Jean, Swamp Fox Grill, and Cypress. Attendees and employees alike enjoyed great food and even better group conversations.

Monday morning kicked off with a few words from our President, Mike Murphy, and our Executive Vice President, Robert Satcher.

Mike shared Softdocs’ appreciation for its fabulous customers. Since our start in 1998, “our customers continue to use our solutions in ways we could have never imagined.”

Following the Welcome Note, our Keynote Speaker, Preston Swincher, from The Center for Generational Kinetics, took the stage to speak on the ever growing generational gap among Traditionalist, Baby Boomers, Gen X’s, and Gen Y’s, in the current workplace. He also spoke on how to overcome some challenges in communication with a few simple adjustments.

After our Keynote Speaker, we began our first day of customer- and expert-led breakout sessions. Each session offered valuable information, experiences, and Q&A time on specific business processes, easy how-tos , and basic solutions to maximize the efficiency of each solution and add-on.

“The conference was valuable—I learned how to maximize our investment in Softdocs solutions.”

“I learned many new things that I can take back and improve my work.”

“The most valuable thing about the sessions was being able to share experiences with others.”

“I have attended different conferences since the early 90s. I would mark this as the best I have ever attended.”

This is just some of the feedback we received from the sessions and conference overall. (Don’t get us wrong, we received some very helpful, yet not-so-positive comments as well. We’ll be sharing those in the coming weeks and ways we’ll improve our conference going forward.)

Monday afternoon’s sessions wrapped up with a sunset harbor cruise filled with a Charleston favorite—shrimp and grits, dancing, and terrific weather.

We wrapped up our breakout sessions on Tuesday and opened the day up to One-on-One Consultations (with members of our Support, Development, and Service teams to answer specific customer questions) and free time to explore historic Charleston.

Wednesday, our last day of the conference, brought everything full circle with the introduction of new products in development and information on what the future holds for Softdocs. The day ended with a surprise birthday celebration for our President, Mike Murphy! (Happy Birthday Mike!)

We could not have been happier with the support and success of this conference and the incredible customer base we have at Softdocs! Thank you so much for all you do. We could not and cannot do this without you!
