Welcome to 2015!

I would like to thank our customers for making 2014 a great year!

This will be another amazing year at Softdocs, as it’s the year of Etrieve! After years of research, collaboration, development and testing, Softdocs officially releases Etrieve – our next generation enterprise content management, e-forms and workflow solution – this month.

While we took multiple steps to ensure Etrieve will be the best solution on the market, it began with two key steps: we researched to select the best technology to base the product on and then developed a product to meet your needs now and into the future.

The end result is a fully browser-based solution built from the ground-up to support multiple platforms and devices. From Chrome to Internet Explorer to Safari to Firefox, from Windows to Mac to iOS to Android, Etrieve is designed to work both at your desk and on the go. And with all user actions, including scanning, search and retrieval and system administration taking place within the browser, users and system administrators alike won’t have to worry with locally installed applications.

From a technical perspective, Etrieve is built on the Microsoft .NET 4.5 Framework with extensive use of HTML5, various JavaScript frameworks and Cascading Style Sheets. The entire solution is built on top of a custom-built API allowing for improved and more secure integration points into and out of Etrieve.

Etrieve also introduces centralized security administration. Users, groups, roles and privileges are all maintained within a single repository where all applications within the suite subscribe. Centralized administration along with the ability to utilize Active Directory and other user stores such as CAS or Shibboleth will greatly reduce the effort of maintaining security as well as add greater flexibility.

We felt it was important to create Etrieve from the user’s perspective. To accomplish this, Softdocs created a Customer Advisory Board to give us insight for product functionality and user interface. This partnership laid the foundation of what the product looks like and how it will perform. We cannot thank the Customer Advisory Board enough for their service!

Etrieve aside, we’re also expanding as a company to provide greater service to you. This year we’ll begin renovations on a new corporate headquarters. This 50,000 sq. foot facility will allow us to consolidate our current two locations into one for better collaboration and efficiency. In addition, the new facility will include training space and labs so that we can expand our training options to include regularly scheduled courses throughout the year.

Since 1998, Softdocs has been a customer-driven company with a deep understanding of our users’ needs. Etrieve is ready to take on the challenge of eliminating paper and improving business processes. I am thankful and proud of our Customer Advisory Board and Development team for their work to get us to this point, and am excited about all our Professional Services and Support teams will be doing to bring Etrieve to your desktop… and your phone… and your tablet!
