5 Challenges We're Seeing in K-12

Last week, our team shared memories of the K-12 educators who helped us develop new competencies, clarify our career paths and who otherwise shaped our lives. Summarizing the overwhelming impact teachers have had on our lives was no easy task.

Well, Teacher Appreciation Week got me thinking. Teachers, and other K-12 professionals, deserve much more recognition and appreciation than we can offer during a single week in May. Not only do teachers play a profound role in the lives of many children, but they do so in the face of tremendous challenges and obstacles.

In my role at Softdocs, I have the opportunity to regularly interview education professionals from schools and districts that utilize Softdocs solutions. I wanted to take the time to briefly describe 5 challenges we see all the time in K-12.

  1. Departments are limited and being dragged down by convoluted, time-intensive processes.

  2. A lack of data and minimal workflow visibility are clouding the big picture.

  3. No data consistency across applications makes it difficult to access needed information.

  4. Difficulties in searching for adequate funding or attracting qualified personnel are forcing districts to find new ways to control expenses.

  5. Pressure to satisfy accountability, compliance and security requirements are growing daily, creating additional time and expense constraints.

At Softdocs, we don’t promise to have all the answers – but we do have a suite of mobile-friendly, ECM solutions built specifically for the education market. Etrieve, our enterprise content management platform, is being used by K-12 institutions to redefine business processes and workflows, eliminating paper, reducing costs and improving productivity - and helping to alleviate many of the challenges outlined above. For over 21 years, we’ve focused our efforts on developing solutions that are effective and user-friendly to the challenges K-12 institutions face each and every day. We want to show you the difference we can make at your institution and in your day-to-day. Check out our upcoming webinars or schedule a 1-on-1 demo, with our thanks for the work you do.

Teachers and education professionals truly make a difference in the lives of many, and all of you have our sincerest appreciation, well beyond the month of May!
